Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse coming to Columbia City

by CHELSIE DAVID

The announcement of a new Japanese restaurant coming to town has sparked excitement for the community.

It was determined that signs were posted to announce the recent remodeling of the storefront location at 116 W. Van Buren St.

In approximately two months, that location will be home to the new Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse.

Sushi, Habachi and other Japanese dishes will be included on the menu for this new restaurant.

This new addition will be located within close proximity to Ohki Alley, an alley transformed into a recreational space in honor of the late Shinzo Ohki.

The dedicated mural created by New York artist Shawn Dunwoody in honor of Ohki, will now mark the exterior wall of the new Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse.

The North Side Grill and The Columbia are a few of the previously popular restaurants that have used the storefront location over the years.
